Justice, Law, and Policy Project (JLPP)

Justice, Law, and Policy Project (JLPP) serves as the legal advocacy program of SisterLove, Inc., dedicated to advancing reproductive justice, civil rights, and social equity through strategic and visionary legal work. We exist to confront and dismantle the systems that perpetuate inequality and to build new frameworks that affirm the rights, autonomy, and dignity of all people—especially those most impacted by reproductive health, rights, and social justice challenges.

From Community Roots to Legal Action: Movement Lawyering in Motion

By leveraging legal expertise, cross-sector collaboration, and public education, JLPP works to influence the broader legal and political landscape in ways that foster long-term, meaningful change. We aim to be a catalyst for justice—working not only to respond to harm but to imagine and implement solutions that lead to sustainable freedom, equality, and reproductive justice.

The Legal Heart of SisterLove: Advancing Justice Through Law and Liberation

Our mission is to utilize legal action and policy reform as powerful mechanisms to uplift underserved communities and expand their access to justice. We focus on driving structural transformation, addressing institutional disparities, and promoting a more equitable society.

JLPP believes that by removing systemic barriers and protecting fundamental rights, individuals are empowered to make informed choices about their lives without fear. At JLPP, legal advocacy is not just about defense—it is about building new systems that center human dignity, community agency, and structural fairness.

Strategic Policy Goals for Lasting Impact

Empower Communities through Education and Advocacy

Provide education and resources to underserved communities to help them navigate legal challenges and advocate for their rights. This includes creating accessible materials and hosting workshops, webinars, and training sessions to promote awareness of legal issues.

Strengthen the Legal and Policy Framework for Human Rights

Work to advance human rights by influencing legal frameworks and policies that protect the fundamental rights of all individuals, focusing on the intersection of reproductive health, rights, and justice.

Champion Intersectional Approaches to Legal Advocacy

Ensure that legal strategies and advocacy efforts address the intersectionality of issues impacting underserved communities, including race, gender, sexuality, immigration status, and socioeconomic background.

Foster Strategic Coalitions and Partnerships

Build and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders to amplify collective action, influence policy decisions, and maximize the impact of legal strategies.

Know Your Rights

You Deserve Care Without Fear

Abortion access is maternal health. No one should lose their life because of fear, confusion, or misinformation about reproductive healthcare laws. In honor of Amber Thurman and Candi Miller—whose lives remind us of what’s at stake—SisterLove is proud to launch the Know Your Rights: You Deserve Care Without Fear Campaign. This initiative is a call to protect lives, empower communities, and demand clarity and justice in reproductive healthcare.

Two women stand side by side against a vibrant background with abstract shapes in pink and blue, accented with orange lines. The woman on the left, with tattoos on her arm, holds one corner of a cardboard sign reading "FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS." The woman on the right, with curly hair, holds up her fist and the other corner of the sign. They project a sense of determination and solidarity. The backdrop is partially striped in black, adding a modern, graphic feel. | SisterLove Atlanta
