Sister Love Inc. & Spark Reproductive Justice Now! to host policy briefing on the State of Black Women and Reproductive Justice in Georgia

(Atlanta, Georgia) – October 25, 2017—SisterLove, Inc., in partnership with SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW!, will welcome our national partner, In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda, to debut our 2017 policy report, Our Bodies, Our Lives, Our Voices: A Policy Brief on The State of Black Women and Reproductive Justice. Atlanta, GA. The report combines comprehensive data with firsthand accounts of the lived experiences of Black women and provides concrete actions policymakers can take to address disparities. The event will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 9:00am-11:30am at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta. Breakfast will be served promptly at 9:00am. Remarks will be delivered by Heidi Williamson, Director of Strategic Partnerships at In Our Own Voice. Additionally, the event will feature a panel of community leaders and activists who discuss the intersection of reproductive justice and other social justice issues including economic justice and healthcare equity and access. This event is free and open to the public. However, tickets must be reserved at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/our-bodies-our-lives-our-voices-a-policy-brief-on-the-state-ofblack-women-and-reproductive-justice-tickets-37315535772?aff=es2

Discussion of these issues is critical to addressing the risks for women and girls associated with limited or reduced access to services and information in our community. By bringing together community, policymakers, and other stakeholders, this event will stimulate meaningful dialogue regarding the inequities present within our community and the actions necessary to address them. We hope you will join us in this momentous occasion.
