RJ Advocates Demand Billboards be “Taken Down”

SisterLove and Other Reproductive Justice Advocates Demand Pro-Life Billboards be “Taken Down”

A coalition of Atlanta-based reproductive justice and reproductive health organizations – organized by SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective & Trust Black Women joined forces to defeat Pro-Life Across America ‘s anti-choice billboard campaign targeting Black women and Black communities in Atlanta, GA.

A news conference was held on Thursday, June 4 at their offices, 1237 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd, SW. Georgia State Senator Vicent Fort was among the speakers who lead a chant for the pro-life group to pull the billboards  and “take them down”.  SisterLove reproductive justice advocate Melanie Medalle’s comments are featured in the video and other SisterLove attendees included Lisa Diane White and LaKeisha Coach.

”These billboards are nothing more than a consistent attempt to instill fear and shame around making our own decisions about what is best for our bodies and families, “ commented Monica Raye Simpson, Executive Director, SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective.
